We are excited that you are considering serving in the music ministry of Hilltop Church!

Participating in choir rehearsal is the first step on your musical adventure, so let’s make your first rehearsal a success! Here are a few things you need to know.

When is REHEARSAL?

We rehearse on Sundays from 5-6:10 pm in the auditorium.

Is there CHILDCARE?

Yes, we have childcare available from K5-6th grade. You can check your child in at the cafeteria. They will have a small snack and have supervised free time until 5:45. From 5:45-6:15, they will participate in Kids Choir in room 202.

Where is the MUSIC?

All music needed for rehearsal is filed in numbered slots in the music bookcases behind the choir loft. A list of choir member names and slot numbers is posted on the wall for easy reference. From the list choose a number that is OPEN. OPEN slots are reserved for guests! When you decide to join the choir, a permanent slot will be assigned to you.

Where should I SIT?

We will help you find a seat, but as a general rule, if you’re facing the choir loft, the altos sit far left, tenors middle left, bass middle right, and sopranos far right.

What should I EXPECT?

We usually rehearse 6-8 songs per rehearsal. You will not be asked to sing by yourself or say anything. Most of the time is spent singing and rehearsing parts, so if you enjoy singing, you’ll love it! Feel free to bring a bottle of water.

Hopefully, this answers most of your questions about rehearsal! If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be glad to help.
